Communications Support Officer, Full Time

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual to join WCVA as our new Communications Support Officer.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about telling stories and celebrating the impact of voluntary organisations across Wales. You’ll help shine a light on the incredible work enabled by our grants and loans programmes, as well as our growing partnerships with businesses and voluntary sector organisations.

If you have a flair for creating compelling content, enjoy working collaboratively, and are keen to make a difference through communications, we’d love to hear from you.

Communications Support Officer

Welsh language category: Desirable

Full time: 35 hours per week, flexibly

Salary: £27,101 rising to £32,323 per annum

WCVA provides a contribution of 9% of your annual salary to its approved pension scheme.

Base: At WCVA, we embrace hybrid and flexible working. With staff working flexibly all across Wales, you’ll have the option to work remotely (including from home) or at our office hubs located in Aberystwyth and Cardiff, and across North Wales in small community spaces. Occasional attendance at our offices will be necessary for specific staff events and work engagements.

About the role

As our Communications Support Officer, you’ll:

  • Create compelling written and visual content that demonstrates the impact of WCVA’s work.
  • Plan and schedule engaging digital content to promote stories of innovation and collaboration.
  • Work closely with colleagues to capture and share success stories from funded projects and partnerships.
  • Support the delivery of communication and campaign plans for grants, loans, and partnership initiatives.
  • Maintain and update website and social media content, ensuring it is accessible, audience-friendly and on brand.
  • Help monitor performance and gather insights to assess the effectiveness of campaigns.
