Volunteering Manager

We’re seeking a proactive and organised manager to join WCVA as our Volunteering Manager.

We’re looking for someone with a deep knowledge of the third sector to manage the day-to-day delivery of our Wales-wide volunteering support service. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to turn strategic vision into practical, sector-wide impact.

Following the launch of the New Approach to Volunteering, you will play a key role in coordinating our services to ensure they are refreshed, inclusive, and highly effective.

If you have strong people and facilitation skills, you could play a vital role in maintaining the networks that help Wales thrive as a volunteering nation. If you are an expert in volunteer management and want to help voluntary organisations across Wales, make a bigger difference together, we want to hear from you.

WHY WORK AT WCVA?

Our staff benefits include 25 days paid holiday plus 8 bank holidays and 5 additional discretionary days, giving you the time and space to recharge. A Personal Pension Scheme, Employee Assistance Programme, enhanced sick pay ,  and healthcare cash plan.

We are an organisation that embraces diversity, with excellent work life balance policies, where flexible working is promoted, and our culture is to nurture staff through effective leadership and excellent team working.

WCVA invests in its employees and their development. As well as being a Living Wage Employer, committed to paying staff the real living wage, WCVA has been awarded Investors in People accreditation.  We're proud to be certified by Great Place to Work, the global authority on workplace culture, with 90% of our staff saying WCVA is a great place to work. That's not a target or an aspiration; it's what our people said.

Full time, 35 hours per week, flexibly

£40,517 increasing to £41,733 per annum following successful completion of a probationary period.

WCVA provides a contribution of 9% of your annual salary to its approved pension scheme.

Fixed term; until 31 March 2028.

Base and flexibility: We embrace hybrid and flexible working. You'll have the option to work remotely (including from home) or at our office hubs located in Aberystwyth and Cardiff, and across North Wales where we hire small community spaces to bring staff together. There are no mandated office days beyond key meetings and specific team requirements.

About the role:

As our Volunteering Manager, you will be the operational lead for WCVA’s Wales-wide volunteering support service. Your primary focus will be ensuring our services are fully aligned with the 'New Approach to Volunteering,' translating high-level strategy into tangible resources and support for the sector.

You will manage the delivery of inclusive and sustainable volunteering initiatives, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders and internal teams. By utilizing evidence and robust evaluation, you will ensure our offer remains resilient and high-quality, directly supporting voluntary organisations to increase their impact across Wales.
