Grants Support Officer x2

We’re looking for two organised and adaptable Grants Support Officers to join our Invest group and help deliver an excellent, fair and transparent grants service. You’ll have experience of using digital systems and administrative processes, managing programmes, projects or services, and providing clear, helpful support. You’ll also be confident working with financial information, maintaining accurate records, meeting deadlines and contributing effectively as part of a team. For one post, Welsh language skills at intermediate level or above are essential; for the other, they are desirable.

Why work at WCVA

Our staff benefits include 25 days paid holiday plus 8 bank holidays and 5 additional discretionary days, giving you the time and space to recharge. A Personal Pension Scheme, Employee Assistance Programme, enhanced sick pay, and healthcare cash plan.

We are an organisation that embraces diversity, with excellent work life balance policies, where flexible working is promoted, and our culture is to nurture staff through effective leadership and excellent team working.

WCVA invests in its employees and their development. As well as being a Living Wage Employer, committed to paying staff the real living wage, WCVA has been awarded Investors in People accreditation.  We're proud to be certified by Great Place to Work, the global authority on workplace culture, with 90% of our staff saying WCVA is a great place to work. That's not a target or an aspiration; it's what our people said.

From 7 September 2026 we are trialling a 4 day working week for a 12-month period. During this period, our working pattern will be Monday to Thursday. Further details of the trial will be provided during the recruitment process.

Full time: 35 hours per week, flexibly

Salary: WCVA Grade C £27,914 rising to £29,043 per annum following successful completion of a probationary period.

WCVA provides a contribution of 9% of your annual salary to its approved pension scheme.

Base: At WCVA, we embrace hybrid and flexible working. With staff working flexibly all across Wales, you’ll have the option to work remotely (including from home) or at our office hubs located in Aberystwyth and Cardiff, and across North Wales in small community spaces. Occasional attendance at our offices will be necessary for specific staff events and work engagements.

About the role

As a Grants Support Officer, you’ll support the delivery of WCVA’s grant programmes and help voluntary organisations across Wales make a positive impact in their communities. You’ll assess grant applications against agreed criteria, provide first-line support to applicants by email, Teams and telephone, and monitor funded organisations to help ensure grant conditions and reporting requirements are met. You’ll also maintain accurate records, support assessment panels, help prepare reports and management information, and contribute to bilingual communications promoting the funds. The role requires a well-organised, customer-focused approach, sound judgement and the flexibility to respond to changing priorities.
