Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.
About the role
Volunteers are vital to Alzheimer's Society which was itself founded by volunteers. Their contribution continues to be absolutely essential to our ability to improve the lives of people living with dementia. What’s more, volunteers are involved in every aspect of our work, from fundraising and campaigning to delivering services and acting as Dementia Friends and Champions.
This role is central to promoting volunteering opportunities across North Wales. Liaising and networking with other organisations in all sectors. Recruitment, retention and rewarding volunteers is the key area of this role as is induction, training and matching people to the best role for them.
The number of people whose lives are affected by dementia grows daily so we need the skills, energy and commitment of all our people - volunteers and employees - to rise to the challenge
To maintain and continue building our exceptional community of volunteers, we are now looking for an experienced and well-motivated person to join us. You will also promote volunteering opportunities and spearhead our volunteer recruitment across the region.
Along with excellent people skills, you must have the confidence and expertise to communicate our vision and inspire others to take up volunteering roles.
You will need a relevant NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) or will have otherwise demonstrated that you have the relevant skills and experience to help us achieve our goals.
You should be methodical in approach and proficient in the use of MS Office packages.
This full time fixed term role covers the North Wales area so you must also be able to travel independently throughout the area.
