Tir Natur is Wales’s only charity solely dedicated to rewilding. We are working to restore nature at landscape scale, developing a model rooted in local communities and Welsh culture and guided by the IUCN’s Principles of Rewilding.
Following four years of development, Tir Natur has secured 1,195 acres of land at Cwm Doethïe and funding to establish Wales’s first landscape-scale rewilding site. We are now moving into delivery and seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead the charity through this important next phase.
Initially, the CEO will strengthen the organisation’s systems, team capacity and approach to measuring impact, ensuring we have the foundations for effective and sustainable delivery. Building on this they will lead the charity’s longer-term development: securing investment, building strategic partnerships and developing a replicable model for landscape-scale rewilding in Cymru.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape a growing charity, influencing thinking around not only how land is managed, but how nature recovery and local communities can thrive together. The successful candidate will combine practical organisational leadership with a commitment to rewilding, strong relationship-building skills and an understanding of the cultural and political context of rural Wales.
Fluent spoken Welsh is essential. The role is fully remote within Wales, with regular travel to Cwm Doethïe and other locations as required.

1. Build an effective, impact-focused organisation
Establish the systems, processes and team capacity needed for effective delivery, clear accountability and robust measurement of ecological and community impact.
2. Secure financial sustainability and enable growth

3. Develop partnerships and influence
Build trusted relationships with communities, land managers, public bodies, funders and strategic partners. Represent Tir Natur in, raising the profile of rewilding and its contribution to nature recovery, climate resilience and community wellbeing.
4. Lead the next phase of Tir Natur's development
Translate the charity's long-term ambition into practical plans, strengthening delivery at Cwm Doethïe while developing opportunities for wider landscape-scale impact across Wales.
