SYSHP is a housing charity, which has been delivering services to vulnerable, socially excluded homeless and potentially homeless young people for 30 years. For young people at an age where they are no longer children and not quite adults, life can be pretty tough. For those who have come out of care or broken up with their families and are worried where they will live, it’s unbearable.

Currently have the following vacancies:

1 x Full time Support Worker 38.5 hours - £18,966; ref DA/SW/09/17

1 x Part time Support Assistant 19.25 hours salary £15,318 Pro rata; ref DA/SA/09/17/PT

Holidays 32 days per year including Statutory Holidays (Pro rata for Part time post)

You will be working as part of a team in a busy 24 hour staffed project and may be required to work at other 24 hour staffed SYSHP projects. You will work together to create an environment which provides young people with a feeling of security and will support young people to develop a sense of ownership and responsibility. A degree of flexibility is required for this position along with excellent communications skills and an understanding of the issues and disadvantages that face young people. You will have good communication skills and will be able to problem solve and make decisions.
