As a support officer in the Grants activity, you will help deliver the work that enables WCVA to become an exemplar grant funding operation that enables the voluntary sector in Wales to be impactful in their communities MAIN DUTIES • Assess grant applications against agreed scoring criteria, programme objectives and funding priorities, applying consistent judgement and maintaining a fair, transparent and equitable assessment process. • Providing a first level of support and excellent customer service, via email, TEAMs and telephone, to groups wishing to apply to the Funds • Ensuring funded organisations comply with terms and conditions of their grants, through effective project monitoring, evaluation and audit, and taking appropriate supportive action where required • Ensuring that information from funded organisations is collected and collated effectively to meet outcome reporting and record management requirements • Support the delivery of grant programmes by following agreed procedures and using the appropriate systems. Ensure all work is carried out transparently, meets audit and governance standards, and complies with the requirements of both WCVA and funders • Help prepare reports and management information for grant making panels, Welsh Government, partners, and other stakeholders, ensuring deadlines are met and responding to additional reporting requests when needed • Promote the Funds by producing bilingual communications materials and maintaining an online presence e.g. website and social media platforms • Be responsive to emerging issues and trends which impact on your work, the work of your team, and the Funds WCVA job description January 2026 • Facilitate the organisation of assessment panel meetings, ensuring stakeholders and partners are appropriately engaged and supported throughout the process. Good numerical skills and an understanding of the requirements of working with financial data and a competency in the use of Microsoft Excel functions 7. Proficient IT skills, including experience of using databases, spreadsheets, email and word processing, preferably Microsoft Office. 8. Reading: can understand straightforward short articles on everyday topics of interest, or to do with work. I can guess what words mean from the context, when the topic is familiar.
