  • Summary

    We are seeking an adaptable & responsible individual to work in Mid and North Wales. Using a company vehicle you will be responsible for distributing magazines to vendors either directly or through Big Issue agencies across Mid and North Wales to ensure Big Issue vendors are able to maximise their sales and personal potential. In order to fulfil this role successfully you should live in Wrexham or the surrounding area.

    Job Role

    On a daily basis you will actively recruiting new vendors, administering pitches & promoting good relations with the general public, including ensuring the vendor Code of Conduct is adhered to & responding to complaints. You will liaise with local councils, police, homeless organisations and other relevant bodies, to build relationships and develop selling opportunities for vendors. You will provide outreach to homeless (or those at risk of homelessness) people encountered on the street, promoting our services, and seeking opportunities to develop existing and new services for vendors You will undertake all cashier work in an accurate and efficient manner, in-line with all cash and paper handling procedures.

    Additional Information

    Locations of delivery and services will include Wrexham, Rhyl, Llandudno and Bangor, as well as potentially many other areas depending on vendor recruitment opportunities.

    To be successful you must be have a full, clean driving license, be confident, responsible and able to work using your own initiative and under pressure. You will need to be highly organised, have good administrative & communication skills, be proficient in Word & Excel, have proven accuracy in record keeping & cash handling and be willing to undertake a CRB disclosure. Experience of working within the homelessness sector would be an advantage and a commitment to the social objectives of The Big Issue is essential.
