We are looking for an intern to implement Mail Chimp within our organisation, linking it to Apple Mac’s address book, Twitter and Facebook

This internship will involve:
• Consulting with staff to understand needs and opportunities
• Produce recommendation report on how this integration could be achieved
• Implementing as far as possible

Food is donated by individuals, schools, businesses and churches and is sorted and stored for future use in the Warehouse in Ely.

We would like to expand the businesses and organisations who support us.

We would like an intern to
• Research potential individuals and organisations who may coordinate collections for us
• Research potential retailers who may wish to donate regularly
• Liaise with potential suppliers to arrange the logistics of collecting and donating food

We would like to explore the possibility of local small retailers donating their 5p carrier bag charge to Cardiff Foodbank.

We would like an intern to
• Gain an understanding of the practicalities involved
• Develop a plan of how this van be achieved
• Research potential retailers who may wish to donate regularly
• Liaise with retailers to arrange the logistics of collecting the donations

Fundraising Research

One of the key ‘business’ functions within the third sector is researching the availability of funding from Trusts and grant making bodies and making applications to meet that criteria.

Funders make their funding criteria available through a number of mediums. E.g. published on their websites, via funding databases, newsletters. Funder’s criteria can direct and shape the nature of future projects.

We would like an intern to research trust fund opportunities:
• Consult colleagues to understand potential projects
• Research funder criteria for some of our existing and potential projects
• Research via funding databases, known sources, specialist sector communications
• Identify a panel of funders who may be able to work with us
• If time allows, develop a funding application under the guidance of a permanent staff member

We are looking for someone who can help us implement our marketing and PR strategy. The person would need to be able to perform the following functions:

- Communicate with each department to understand and obtain up to date information as what is current in the sport
- to write creative newsletters
- To design & update our website
- To update Facebook and Twitter
- Ensure our events are being promoted as effectively as possible by working alongside media

Event Management & PR

We are planning an event for the end of April (possibly sooner) to showcase the talent of some of the people who have been involved in our project. We would like an Intern who will develop and support the coordination of the event with support from a permanent member of the team.

The internship will involve:
• General planning of an event
• Implementation of the event
• Developing a marketing strategy
• Managing a budget

Family Activities Assistant

The National Trust

To be the face of National Trust Carmarthenshire helping us to give the best visitor experience possible across our sites; bringing the property to life with a range of exciting activities and opportunities. To provide practical assistance to the staff and regular volunteers in the organisation, preparation, running and clearing up involved in delivering the planned holiday events at Dinefwr and/or Dolaucothi Gold Mines.
Typical activities will include
• Assisting at stalls / activities
• Moving and arranging equipment and chairs within the grounds.
• Helping to park cars.
• The erection and dismantling of marquees, etc.
• Clearing away resources/equipment/chairs/etc after an event.
• Working with other staff to provide an excellent visitor experience

Archive Project

We have a large and unique collection of Music (records, tapes, videos) and memorabilia which we would like archived.

We would therefore like an Intern to design and lead an archiving project to develop a method for preserving the collection and making it accessible to the public.

The internship involves:
• Reviewing our current storage methods (new database, website)
• Assess needs and best methodology for transferring and cataloguing items
• Research options for making info available via the internet
• Development of an action plan to direct other volunteers

User Group Project

We would like to establish an ongoing support group for young people who have benefited from our service. This is an action identified through feedback from young people who have been involved with our family Group Conference activities.

The Internship will involve:

• Gaining an understanding of the needs of the users and our services
• Through consultation with colleagues, establish the objectives of a support group
• Make contact with potential participants
• Establishing the framework , guidelines and practical aspects of meetings and communication

You will be supported by a permanent staff member.

One of our aims is to build greater awareness of our work and the way our family group conferences work to support the whole family.
We would therefore like an Intern to produce a short booklet to illustrate a typical experience of the service to inform and reassure families who are considering using the service

The internship would involve:
• Consulting with colleagues and stakeholders to understand aims and needs
• Consulting with participants to understand various perspectives
• Developing a storyline
• Obtaining photographs to illustrate the story
• Designing layout
• Taking though to production

This type of project may suit a small group of 2-3 interns who may wish to work together.
